Once established Privet is a permeant evergreen hedge but it can experience a small amount of leaf drop during the winter. It is robust and a relatively fast grower which will thrive in most conditions except for very wet sites

- General hedge trimming should be done twice a year, once in early June and again in late September. It is important to prune at the right time, so as not to remove new growing shoots
